Eligibility
Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Students must have completed all of their high school education in a Calgary Board of Education school, and parents/guardians must have resided in Calgary during those years. Applicants must have the courses and grades necessary to meet the entrance requirements of their planned post-secondary program of study.
The applicant must not hold any other scholarship(s) in excess of $1,700 excluding the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship. Students must notify EducationMatters of other awards won.
Selection will be based on financial need and academics.

Selection & Payment
Recipients are selected by September. To claim the award, within twelve (12) months of high school graduation the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Calgary of at least two years duration towards a diploma or certificate, but NOT a bachelor’s degree. Eligible institutions include, but are not limited to, SAIT and Mount Royal University non-baccalaureate programs.
