Eligibility

Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must demonstrate contributions to climate action.

Applicants are required to submit an original essay of approximately 500 words or a short video (maximum 5 minutes in length) describing their contributions to climate action. Some examples of climate action might include participation in the climate strike movement, contributions to a school eco club or work with a community, faith or political group on a climate-related project.

Selection will be based on the essay/video.

Selection & Payment

Recipients are selected and notified by September. The selection committee may include the donor or donor representative. To claim the award, within twenty-four (24) months of notification of award, the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study of at least two years duration, which can include vocational, apprenticeship, trades, technical or postsecondary institutions. Payments are made to the post-secondary/training institution.
