The Green & Gold Fund was established in 2005 to provide financial support to assist students at Bowness High School pursue post-secondary education opportunities. These scholarships enable Bowness High School graduates to enhance their development and growth in five key areas.

Eligibility
Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. To be considered for this award, applicants must:
- Demonstrate outstanding ability, achievement, leadership, citizenship, and excellence of service to the school and community throughout Grades 10, 11 and 12.
- Qualify for an Alberta High School Diploma with a Grade 12 average of 65% or better in five courses, at least three of which must be 30-level academic courses.
- Demonstrate goals and a future plan, plus strong personal skills and character, overall good attitude.
Recipients are selected based on financial and socio-economic need and/or other special circumstances specific to that student/family. Preference will also be given to applicants pursuing post-secondary studies related to the key area(s) applied to; however, in the absence of such applicants, consideration will be given to applicants who have excelled or demonstrated excellence in a specific area. The academic category will be awarded to the top male and female academic.
The recipient(s) must not hold any other scholarship(s) or award(s) in excess of $10,000 cumulatively, with the exception of the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship. Students must notify EducationMatters of other awards won.

Selection & Payment
Recipients will be selected by staff at Bowness High School, including a representative from EducationMatters and will be notified by September. To claim the award, within two (2) years of high school graduation, recipients must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Canada of at least two years duration. Payments will be made to the post-secondary institutions.
