friendship and hope, this endowment is to inspire students and to give opportunities to others that might struggle with school as she did. This scholarship is open to all students who have demonstrated personal growth/improvement and aspire to continue their education.

Eligibility
Open to students registered in grade 12 at Lord Beaverbrook High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma.
Applicants are required to share their story through a letter, video, comic strip, art portfolio/project or another creative demonstration “describing the “turnaround” or personal growth they have demonstrated in their life and highlighting how this scholarship will help them pursue their passion and achieve their dreams”.
Applicants are also encouraged to include a note of recommendation from a teacher, counsellor, school administrator or a community member (including, but not limited to an employer, social worker, medical professional or leader representing a community-based organization) speaking to the student’s demonstrated “turnaround” or personal growth.
Selection will be based on the applicant’s story and demonstrated turnaround and improvement.

Selection & Payment
Recipients will be notified in June and will be selected by a committee consisting of the donor or their representative, staff at Lord Beaverbrook High School and a representative from EducationMatters. To claim the award, within two (2) years of high school graduation, recipients must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study in Canada, an eligible skilled trades or apprenticeship program or an eligible institution providing certification. Upgrading courses are also eligible. Payments are made to the post-secondary/educational institution.
