Eligibility
Open to students registered in grade 12 at Central Memorial High School who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and have earned marks sufficient for entrance to a post-secondary area of study.
Applicants are required to submit a letter of recommendation from a Math or Science teacher describing how the student has overcome personal or academic challenges to succeed in these subjects.
Students experiencing financial need should include a “Statement of Need” explaining their circumstance for consideration.

Online application available at www.educationmatters.ca. Applicants should check with their guidance office for more information and are encouraged to discuss their application with the Scholarship Coordinator at their high school.
Selection
Applications will be assessed on the letter of recommendation from teacher(s) with special consideration given to those that may demonstrate financial need based on their submitted statement of need. Recipients will be notified by September. Teachers from the Central Memorial High School Math & Science Departments and a representative from EducationMatters will select the recipient. Selection may also include a representative from the donor family.
Payment
To claim the award, within eighteen (18) months of notification of award, the recipient must be registered in an eligible 4-year program of study leading to a degree. Payments are made to the post-secondary institution upon confirmation of enrollment from the institution.
