The award was created through a generous donation from Hana and Zainab Osman with the intention of providing an award to two graduating students from Bishop McNally High School, Lester B. Pearson High School, Nelson Mandela High School or Forest Lawn High School who have received admission into the Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) program at the University of Calgary. This donation is intended to aid students in their first year of university, and to motivate more northeast Calgary high school students to apply for the Bachelor of Health Sciences program.

Eligibility
Open to new graduates/current grade 12 students of Bishop McNally, Lester B. Pearson, Nelson Mandela high school as well as students at Forest Lawn High School who are living in NE Calgary, who have applied to or are planning to enroll in the BHSc program at the University of Calgary.
Preference will be given to candidates who engage in extra-curricular activities and demonstrate merit in their academics and life.
Applicants are required to respond to the following questions in no more than 750 words.
a. What does living in northeast Calgary mean to you?
b. What made you choose the BHSc program?
c. What are your career goals?
Selection will be based on the responses to the above questions along with consideration to extra-curricular involvement.

Selection & Payment
The selection committee will consist of the donors as well as a representative from EducationMatters and recipients will be selected and notified by September. To claim the award, within one (1) year of notification of award the recipient must be registered in the Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) program at the University of Calgary. Payment will be made directly to the University of Calgary.
