Dr. and Mrs. MacGougan established the William Keir MacGougan Memorial Bursary in 1963 in memory of William Keir MacGougan. The purpose of the bursary is to provide an incentive to boys who might otherwise be discouraged by reason of financial need to pursue post-secondary education.

Eligibility
Open to students who identify as male that are registered in grade 12 and completing the requirements of a high school diploma in not more than three years of study. Applicants must have demonstrated academic progress and have a minimum 65% GPA in grade 12. Students must have successfully completed English 30, and demonstrated financial need.
Applicants must have demonstrated positive citizenship qualities as revealed by the participation in non-academic activities for the school and community.
Selection will be based on academics, financial need and citizenship.

Selection & Payment
Recipients are selected by September. To claim the award, within one (1) year of notification of award the recipient must be registered in an eligible program of post-secondary study of at least two years duration leading to either a degree or diploma. Payments are made to the post-secondary institutions.
