The CBE Student Well-Being Symposium is an annual program that began in the 2023/24 school year. Last year’s program brought together 24 CBE schools and this year the goal is to grow the program to have 94 schools, and 1000 students participate. The symposium is an opportunity for students, along with school administrators and teachers, to share the challenges that students are facing related to well-being, discuss ways to engage with all students in their schools and discover important changes either big or small that can positively impact student well-being throughout the school.

After last year’s symposium, students who attended the program returned to their schools and led Student Well-Being Action Teams. These teams developed action plans that were customized for their school and their student population to promote well-being, inclusion, and connection. Student-led initiatives such as cultural celebrations and beautifying school spaces helped to foster the feeling of belonging and well-being at participating schools. We look forward to another successful Well-Being Symposium and follow-up actions this year.
