EducationMatters is committed to furthering the work towards Truth and Reconciliation, and the Elder Honorarium Fund enables donors to have a meaningful impact on both students and the broader Indigenous communities that live on Treaty 7 land.

Ensuring that all students have the opportunity to learn from Indigenous Elders is vital in helping them to explore and understand Indigenous Ways of Knowing.  This Fund provides financial support for schools in less affluent communities to invite Elders to work with their students whenever they would benefit from Indigenous teaching and support the important journey towards true reconciliation.
