As part of our 20th Birthday campaign EducationMatters plans to endow at least ten new student awards to support Calgary students in perpetuity.

The sky’s the limit when you’re creating your own student award – do you want to support a specific school, a specific area of study, or is it wide open? Are you rewarding academics, volunteerism, or athleticism? Do you want to help choose the student or leave it up to our awards committee? Check out the second page of the PDF below for more ideas on how to create an award you will be proud to call your own.

Endowments pay out 4.5% of their value each year, so a $12,000 investment provides an initial award of $500; $18,000 an award of $750; $24,000 an award of $1,000 and so on. Endowments are designed to grow over time, with or without further investment, ensuring that your impact will be felt for generations to come.
