Tylena was an art major at Bowness High School with infectious spirit and humour. She was an inspiring artist with compassion for all life (human, animal and plant), wanting the world to be a more beautiful place for all to enjoy. Her passion was drawing and reading, particularly superhero graphic novels, and her goal was to write and illustrate her own comics one day.
Tylena lived her life helping others “be and feel better” – so it’s fitting that her legacy be one of hope, support, and kindness. She understood all too well how it felt to struggle in school and it’s in her name that we present an annual student award to a fellow artist who has overcome adversity during their school career.
October 3rd would have been Tylena’s birthday – in celebration of her life please contribute to this award fund. Her generosity, empathy, humour, and spirit live on through this scholarship and the young people it supports and inspires.
