norman_kwongWe are saddened to hear of the passing on Saturday of the Honourable Norman Lim “Normie” Kwong.

A trailblazer for his entire life, Kwong lists an incredible string of achievements including receiving the Order of Canada, being the first Canadian professional football player of Chinese heritage (playing for the Calgary Stampeders and the Edmonton Eskimos), serving as the 16th Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, and receiving the Calgary Board of Education Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005. Kwong is survived by his wife, four sons, and ten grandchildren.

An incredible builder of Alberta, he will be missed.
